Position Overview
As a Business Development Manager for Ireland, you will play a pivotal role in driving national growth, establishing Beckhoff as a market leader in automation solutions, and building long-term customer relationships. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, expanding existing accounts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
Additionally, this role will support the business to identify, establish, and develop a stand-alone Beckhoff office in Ireland, which will serve as a base for future technical resources, ensuring it becomes a key hub for Beckhoff’s growth in the region
Key Performance Objectives (KPOs)
1. Expand National Sales and Market Penetration
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan targeting OEMs, machine builders & end users across Ireland within the first 6 months.
- Secure five new potentially high-value customer accounts in the first year, contributing to overall business growth.
- Achieve/exceed the annual sales growth target of 15%, focusing on both new and existing customer expansion.
2. Strengthen and Grow Existing Accounts
- Develop a detailed account management plan for key accounts within the first 90 days, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
- Maintain a 95% customer retention rate by consistently delivering value through tailored automation solutions.
- Increase revenue from existing accounts, ensuring alignment with growth targets.
3. Deliver Exceptional Customer Engagement and Satisfaction
- Ensure 100% customer satisfaction by working with technical and project teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Deliver engaging presentations and demonstrations, addressing specific customer challenges.
4. Report and Forecast Accurately
- Provide accurate weekly reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and forecasts.
- Maintain 95% CRM data accuracy, ensuring visibility of all customer interactions.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
· Develop and refine a business development strategy that aligns with national and corporate objectives.
· Identify and engage with high-value prospects, focusing on OEMs, machine builders & end users.
· Build strong client relationships by delivering technical presentations and tailored automation solutions.
· Work with the sales support team to produce professional proposals and quotations.
· Support the business with it’s acquisition and development of offices in Ireland, ensuring long-term sustainability.
· Collaborate with technical and project teams to ensure smooth solution delivery.
Professional and Personal Profile
Preferred Technical Expertise:
· Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
· Proven success in consultative sales of Motion Control, I/O, Industrial PCs (IPC) / PLC, Software, and Vision Systems.
· Ability to explain complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

· Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
· Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of regional development initiatives.
· Project management skills.
