Project Engineers – Water
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Site Project Engineer to join our growing team. This is a key role within our operations division, focused on delivering high-quality utility projects through both preventative and reactive maintenance.
Location: Mainly On-site covering South-West Region (based out of Cork & Tipperary premises)
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Role Purpose
To support the successful Design and Delivery of water treatment plant upgrades, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and coordinating technical and construction activities. This role plays a vital part in maintaining operational excellence through proactive site management, technical reporting, and stakeholder engagement, which involves gathering critical site details and information through site visits and surveys
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret Uisce Éireann specifications and assist the design team in the development of practical design solutions
- Support the delivery of multiple concurrent projects as part of a collaborative team
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability standards
- Prepare and review Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and technical documentation
- Monitor site progress and coordinate labour and subcontractors
- Liaise with clients, consultants, stakeholders, and the public
- Oversee quality control, including FAT, SAT, ITRs, pressure testing, and commissioning
- Provide project management support when required
Candidate RequirementsEssential:
- Experienced in a similar role within the water/utilities sector
- Strong understanding of site engineering, surveying, and project coordination
- Proven ability to manage technical documentation and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Familiarity with Uisce Éireann standards and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Full driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience with GPS, total station, or 3D scanning equipment (advantageous)
- Relevant engineering or surveying qualifications
