Job Description: Our CDMO client is seeking a Senior New Product Introduction Engineer with 5+ years of experience to lead a team of Engineers and Technicians delivering NPI and Product Development projects from concept through commercialization. This contract role will oversee product and process development, prototyping, testing, design verification and validation, and the introduction of new parts into manufacturing. The engineer will coach and mentor the team, manage project budgets and resources, and coordinate priorities with customers, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders.
The role will define requirements for new technologies, develop robust manufacturing processes and test methods, and lead structured problem-solving using Six Sigma and statistical tools. Responsibilities include risk management under ISO 13485, preparation of test protocols and reports, and process verification and validation for commercial release. Process experience with laser cutting and laser welding technologies is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop the NPI team while managing multiple product development and introduction projects.
- Oversee new part introduction with the manufacturing team and support product design and development through customer design processes.
- Coordinate prototyping, concept testing, initial engineering builds, and design verification and validation.
- Develop test methods and processes using tools such as R&R, Design of Experiments (DOE), and equivalence testing; document processes in standard work instructions.
- Manage project budgets, priorities, resources, stakeholder updates, and external communications from concept through commercialization.
- Define technology user requirements and support the introduction of ISO 56000 innovation management practices.
- Incorporate ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 requirements into development and production processes, supporting safety, environmental, and energy-management improvements.
Skills:
- NPI and Product Development project management using appropriate methods and tools, such as PMBOK or Agile.
- Proven product and process validation experience.
- Six Sigma, structured problem-solving, and process improvement for medium- to high-complexity projects.
- Statistical test-method and process development, including R&R, DOE, and equivalence testing.
- Process experience with laser cutting and laser welding technologies
- Experience with grinding, moulding, EDM, or other laser processes
- Project Management and/or Six Sigma qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
