Senior M&E Building Services Design Engineer

Located in Oranmore, Co Galway, CBS Consulting Engineers Ltd is a Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Consultancy Practice specializing in the design, consultancy and project management of sustainable, energy-efficient mechanical and electrical building services. CBS are currently involved in a number of prestigious projects ranging from hotels and sports stadiums through to large residential projects.

Role Description

You'll play a key part in the Mechanical and Electrical Design team and will have the opportunity to provide input into large prestigious projects nationwide.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
• Design and specification of all Mechanical and Electrical Building Services systems.
• Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including H2x, , AutoCAD, Revit, Excel, etc.
• Preparing technical specifications.
• Working with others to produce accurate designs
• Drawing production in AutoCAD
• Drawing Production in REVIT (essential)
• Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
• Managing own workload, updating forward plan of workload regularly and working to time allocations.
• Managing elements of project delivery and an understanding of budget costings.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
• Good level of computer literacy in a range of mechanical and electrical digital tools - H2x, IES, Prodesign (Amtech), AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
• Awareness of building physics principles.
• Experience of working in a design consultancy and/or some experience of working within a contractor design environment is beneficial.
• Good knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
• Able to take charge of personal project deliverables, make decisions on developing the discipline design elements, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.
