IT Systems Administrator
Our Cork based client are thriving IT Services provider & are now recruiting for an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join their team. The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and maintaining IT infrastructure for a diverse portfolio of business clients.
The IT Systems Administrator will have expertise across Microsoft technologies, cloud platforms, networking, cybersecurity, virtualization, and end-user support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain client IT environments
- Administer Windows Server environments and Active Directory services
- Manage Microsoft 365 tenants, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra ID
- Configure and maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity planning
- Deploy and support Microsoft Azure environments
- Implement cloud migration projects
- Manage hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions
- Configure backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
- Monitor cloud security and compliance requirements
- Configure and support firewalls, switches, wireless networks, and VPN solutions
- Troubleshoot complex networking issues
- Maintain network security and performance
- Document network infrastructure and configuration
- Deliver exceptional customer service to business clients
- Communicate technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Lead infrastructure implementation and migration projects
Key Requirements
- 5 plus years' experience in a Systems Administrator or Senior Infrastructure role
- Strong experience with
- Microsoft 365 Administration
- Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Exchange Online
- Microsoft Azure
- VMware vSphere and/or HyperV
- Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs)
- Firewall technologies
- Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- Endpoint security and cybersecurity best practices
- Proven experience managing multiple clients simultaneously.
- Experience delivering infrastructure and cloud migration projects.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience with IT monitoring and remote management tools.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
- Full clean drivers license
