Assistant Manager – Retail | Mogeely, Co. Cork
Excel Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting an Assistant Store Manager for our client, a well-established and highly respected retail business in Mogeely, Co. Cork.
Our client is a market-leading retailer with a strong presence across Munster, offering a diverse range of products including hardware, DIY, agricultural supplies, gardening, household and building materials.
If you are an experienced Assistant Manager, Department Manager or Store Manager and have an interest or knowledge in Farming, Agri or similar retail we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities of this Assistant Manager role:
- Support the Store Manager in the successful day-to-day running of the store.
- Lead, motivate and develop the retail team to deliver excellent customer service.
- Drive sales performance, achieve KPIs and identify opportunities for commercial growth.
- Maintain excellent store standards, merchandising and product presentation.
- Monitor departmental performance, budgets and operational costs.
- Support stock management, stock control and overall store efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements and operational procedures.
- Take ownership of key areas of the business and support the Store Manager in achieving store objectives.
- Create a positive, customer-focused and results-driven working environment.
Requirements for this Assistant Manager job:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in retail, ideally with supervisory or management experience.
- Previous experience in hardware, DIY, agricultural retail or a similar retail environment would be a distinct advantage.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive sales and manage KPIs.
- Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.
- A passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a busy retail environment.
- Confidence in managing store operations, stock, budgets and retail systems.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine interest in developing your retail management career.
