Start Date: Late 2025 / Early 2026
Salary : $90,000 - $114,000 AUD Per Annum
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Emergency Department Registrar to join a dynamic and supportive ED team in a coastal regional hospital in Queensland. As an ED Registrar, you will play a central role in delivering high-quality emergency care, supported by FACEMs, senior medical officers, nursing staff, and allied health professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of emergency presentations.
- Stabilize and manage critically ill and trauma patients under supervision.
- Participate in resuscitation, procedural sedation, airway management, and acute care interventions.
- Supervise and support junior doctors and medical students.
- Collaborate with inpatient teams and external healthcare providers to ensure safe patient transitions.
- Contribute to departmental education sessions, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
About the Hospital:
Located on the beautiful northern Queensland coast, the hospital is a regional referral centre with a modern and well-equipped Emergency Department. Serving a diverse population, the ED sees a high volume of presentations across all age groups, including trauma, tropical disease, and Indigenous health needs.
Essential Criteria:
- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or MD)
- Completion of 1 Year Internship within UK setting
- General registration or eligible under the competent authority pathway with AHPRA
- At least 3 years post-graduate clinical experience, including time in emergency medicine.
- Sound clinical knowledge and decision-making skills in acute care settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
