Cost & Management Accountant
Location: Galway
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Arrangement: On-site
Salary: €70,000-80,000
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Cost & Management Accountant to join the Group Finance team of a large, established Irish organisation with a significant multi-site operation.
This is a hands-on, commercially focused position offering broad exposure across management accounting, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting and business partnering. The successful candidate will work closely with operational management and senior leadership, providing meaningful financial insight and helping identify opportunities to improve margins, control costs and enhance business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting financial reports across multiple business units.
- Produce P&L reporting and analysis, highlighting key variances against budget and prior year.
- Develop and maintain KPI reporting across revenue, labour costs, operating costs, gross margin and EBITDA.
- Analyse operational costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and margin improvement.
- Coordinate annual budgeting and support rolling forecasting processes.
- Provide clear budget versus actual analysis and commentary.
- Partner closely with operational managers, providing financial insight and commercial support.
- Support business cases, capital investment evaluations and financial modelling.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and support the annual statutory audit process.
- Contribute to improvements across finance systems, reporting, controls and month-end processes.
The Ideal Candidate
- Fully qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA.
- At least 3 years' post-qualification experience within a management accounting environment.
- Strong track record of preparing management accounts and working to month-end deadlines.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial reporting.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills with the ability to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and analysis.
- Experience working with ERP or accounting systems.
- Exposure to a multi-site, retail, hospitality, food & beverage or similarly operational environment would be highly advantageous.
- Previous exposure to operational cost analysis, particularly labour or other variable costs, would also be beneficial.
