Job title: SHARED SERVICES MANAGER

Location: LIMERICK Ireland

Reporting to: Group finance director

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic, Irish-headquartered company experiencing significant growth and global expansion. This role offers the chance to be part of a collaborative and ambitious team with a company that combines local leadership with international expertise.

As Shared Services Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and evolving the company’s global Accounts Payable function. The immediate focus will be to establish a globally consistent, strategically aligned function that ensures operational excellence in supplier management processes across all regions.

Strategic Leadership & Expansion

  • Lead the end-to-end Accounts Payable process across global entities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments.
  • Align with the broader finance teams and business around plans and deliverables ensuring a strategically aligned execution model.
  • Support the establishment and integration of a new and complementary team in India to enhance global scalability and drive efficiency.

Stakeholder & Supplier Engagement

  • Collaborate with departments such as Procurement and IT to ensure alignment and efficiency in financial operations.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, fostering a culture of collaboration and timely issue resolution.
  • Manage key global supplier relationships and oversee regular account reconciliations to ensure strong partnerships, transactional accuracy, and proactive issue resolution at source.

Process Excellence & Systems Optimization

  • Standardise processes across all business units to ensure consistency, efficiency, and clear workflows with defined escalation paths.
  • Implement new automation concepts and enhance existing tools to reduce manual entry, improve accuracy, and enhance productivity.
  • Maintain a robust document management protocol to ensure audit readiness and efficient information retrieval.

Performance Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and report on relevant KPIs to monitor team performance, service levels, and process scores.
  • Establish and maintain an internal audit framework to proactively assess process integrity, identify control weaknesses, and ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the team

Compliance & Risk Control

  • Ensure segregation of duties to prevent fraud and errors.
  • Work in close partnership with internal tax teams to stay on top of evolving regulations such as VAT, RCT, and withholding tax and embed compliance into processes through a robust internal audit framework and ongoing control reviews.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure adherence to policies and regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Promote a high-performing team culture through proactive coaching, mentoring, and continuous development.
  • Provide regular training on systems, compliance, and soft skills.
  • Set clear performance goals and conduct regular one-on-ones and reviews.
  • Encourage cross-training to build resilience and flexibility within the team.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in shared services and finance operations, with specific leadership in Accounts Payable.
  • Experience managing teams in a global or multi-entity environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and payroll platforms
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management across multiple regions.
  • Process-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
