Overview

ICDS Group are seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor for a leading main contractor based in Galway. This is a senior-level role, ideal for someone looking to take ownership of the commercial function across multiple large-scale projects. The company has an excellent reputation for delivering complex, high-value builds in sectors such as commercial, residential, and industrial developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of multiple construction projects simultaneously.
• Develop cost plans, budgets, and accurate financial reports for senior management.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract negotiation, and performance management.
• Provide strategic input on project profitability, risk management, and value engineering.
• Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Mentor and manage junior and intermediate QS team members.

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8+ years’ experience in a commercial role, with at least 2+ years at a senior/management level.
• Proven background working for main contractors on large-scale projects.
• Excellent knowledge of contract law, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
