We are seeking a Pipe Stress Engineer to support complex and fast-paced Electronics facilities projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, and integrity assessment of piping systems while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-performing solutions. This position includes regular attendance at client sites for field assessments, design reviews, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pipe stress analysis using AutoPIPE
- Select pipe supports from standard vendor catalog and/or from internal support database
- Design custom pipe supports based on project-specific requirements including load conditions, space constraints, and expected travel
- Perform engineering calculations such as equipment nozzle load evaluations, trunnion design checks, weld adequacy assessments, etc
- Prepare and maintain all pipe stress engineering deliverables and documentation
- Coordinate closely with piping designers, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery
- Conduct field walks, site investigations, and client meetings to support engineering design and project execution
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- At least 5 years of relevant engineering experience
- At least 2 years of experience in pipe stress analysis and support design
- Proficient in pipe stress analysis software such as AutoPIPE and Caesar II
- Proficient with finite element analysis (FEA) and associated software such as FE-Pipe and NozzlePro
- Working knowledge with design tools such as Navisworks and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
- Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
- Advanced experience with AutoPIPE
- Working knowledge of plastic pipe design and analysis
