A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Safety & Environment Specialist.

You will join a dedicated team and will play an integral role in developing, maintaining, and continually improving the Safety & Environment systems at the Brinny, Co. Cork facility. The Brinny site specialises in the development and manufacture of innovative novel vaccines and testing of immuno-oncology medicines. The Brinny site has been a vibrant part of the pharmaceutical sector in the South-East region of Ireland for almost 40 years.

You will provide safety/environmental guidance to the organization and uphold high standards of EHS compliance.

Bring energy, knowledge, innovation to carry out the following:

  • Develop, implement and maintain EHS programs to ensure compliance with local legislation, company standards, and industry best practices.
  • Manage day to day EHS queries and provide Safety/Environment support to business areas.
  • Participates with teams to drive EHS improvements delivering clear outcomes.
  • Evaluate EHS systems, programs and procedures for compliance and improvement by reviewing and carrying out inspections.
  • Collate, review, prepare and submit required regulatory submissions and notifications.
  • Demonstrate a strong desire to protect employees, our community, and the environment – leading with a ’safety first’ mindset.
  • Participates in achieving sustainability goals for the company through site initiatives.
  • Participates in Safety and Environmental audits and inspections.
  • Maintain a high standard of documentation in relation to all activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What skills you will need:

In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering, Science, Environment and/or Health & Safety related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with responsibilities for safety and/or environment.
  • Possess analytical and logical problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain focus on key goals and priorities, but also analyse the detail to facilitate problem resolution and ensure project success.
  • Knowledge and experience working with EHS regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence both horizontally and vertically.
  • Ability to work independently,
