Ready to innovate and contribute to our path to $10B? Here, you'll collaborate with passionate teams, tackle real-world challenges, and see your impact in how customers transform and grow. If you're ready to bring curiosity, creativity, and drive to every moment, NetApp is where your journey begins.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Network SRE & Operations Engineer to join our Cork team. In this hands-on role, you will be the bridge between traditional network operations and modern NetDevOps or NetAIOps. You will not just keep the lights on—you will treat our global network as code, using your expertise in networking and automation to eliminate manual toil, drive reliability, and ensure maximum service uptime across our hybrid environment.

  • Travel Requirement: This role requires 10% to 20% travel to support our global sites, data centers, and collaborate with international teams.

What You Will Do

  • Network Automation & SRE: Design and implement automation workflows (Infrastructure as Code) to replace manual configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Security & Edge Health: Manage and tune the operational health of our security posture, acting as the SME for Cisco ISE (NAC), Palo Alto firewalls, and Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA).
  • Enterprise LAN & Data Center: Own the lifecycle and performance of our global wired network and hybrid data centers, heavily utilizing Cisco Catalyst (9000s) and Nexus environments.
  • Proactive Observability: Leverage telemetry and APIs via tools like LogicMonitor, SolarWinds NCM, and ThousandEyes to detect and auto-remediate network anomalies before they impact users.
  • Escalation & Mentorship: Serve as the final technical escalation point for complex global incidents and champion an SRE culture (SLAs, SLOs, blameless post-mortems) within the networking team.

What You Bring

  • Network Automation: Proficiency in scripting (Python, Go) and automation frameworks (Ansible, Terraform, Nornir).
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Experience managing network configurations using Git, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Core Routing & Switching: Deep, enterprise-scale experience managing Cisco Catalyst/Nexus environments and hybrid cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure, or OCI).
  • Security Operations: Strong operational expertise in administering Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco ISE.
  • Mindset: A strong drive for operational excellence, rigorous change management, and a passion for automating repetitive tasks.

Highly Desirable Industry Certifications:

  • Automation & SRE: Cisco Certified DevNet Professional or HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
  • Core Infrastructure: Cisco CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Data Center
  • Demonstrated experience with network automation and IaC is valued more highly than traditional expert-level certifications (e.g., CCIE).
  • Security & Edge: Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or relevant Zscaler administration certifications (ZIA/ZPA).

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with Cisco ACI, NAC, or SDWAN (vManage).
  • Operational management of F5 or VMware AVI load balancers.
  • Experience in Manufacturing network environments.

Compensation:

The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.

At NetApp, we embrace a hybrid working environment designed to strengthen connection, collaboration, and culture for all employees. This means that most roles will have some level of in-office and/or in-person expectations, which will be shared during the recruitment process.

NetApp is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and to compliance with all federal, state and local laws that prohibit employment discrimination based on age, race, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, religion, disability or genetic information, pregnancy, protected veteran status, and any other protected classification.
