Management Accountant

My client, a growing firm in mid Cork, is looking to recruit a Management Accountant on a permanent basis. The role offers a very competitive salary, benefits, a hybrid working policy and significant career progression.

The Role:

• Preparation and Review of Management Accounts: Lead the timely preparation and in-depth review of monthly management accounts, with a strong focus on analyzing gross margin variances. Investigate root causes and work closely with operational teams to implement action plans aimed at improving profitability and reducing costs.
• Margin Improvement & Cost Control: Drive initiatives to enhance gross margin through detailed financial analysis and cross-functional collaboration. Identify cost-saving opportunities and develop strategic recommendations for operational efficiency.
• Internal Controls & Process Improvements: Evaluate, design, and implement robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Continuously assess processes to enhance accuracy, accountability, and efficiency.
• Working Capital Management: Monitor and optimize key working capital components — including receivables, payables, and inventory — to ensure healthy cash flow and liquidity. Support forecasting and budgeting activities to improve short- and long-term financial planning.
• Client Financial Control Services: Provide comprehensive financial control services to clients, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic reporting. Act as a trusted advisor, delivering actionable insights that support business growth and financial sustainability.
• Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals. Set clear objectives, support professional development, and foster a high-performance culture that encourages accountability and continuous improvement

Requirements:

• Qualified Accountant with 3 Years PQE
• Proficient in all aspects of accounts preparation
• Competent IT skills and systems experience
• Management experience an advantage
• Available to start immediately (highly desirable but not essential)
