The Client and overview of the Role:
My Client are a Kilkenny-based Construction Main Contractor with an annual turnover circa €100M. They have numerous Commercial and Residential project in Kilkenny, Laois and Kildare and can offer continuity of work in these areas for years to come.
They are involved projects for; pharma, industrial, educational, sports, commercial and residential buildings.
The Directors of this business have decades of experience in managing large-scale projects whilst developing their staff over time. This business have a fantastic name and are keen to bring in more good people and offer them a Career not just a job.
They are looking for 2 Site Engineers for Housing and Commercial projects. You'll be required to Set-Out but further responsibilities will depend on your experience.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with on-site and off-site management teams to set-out the project.
- Check plans and drawings to ensure all calculations are accurate.
- Check shuttering, steel and other dimensions prior to concrete pours.
- Liaise with subcontractors, clients and internal teams to ensure that program targets are met/exceeded where possible
- Produce As-Built drawings and manage technical submittals for utilities, local authorities etc.
- Come up with solutions to problems, where necessary.
- Oversee quality control and health and safety on site.
- Maintain materials reconciliation files.
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- 1+ years’ experience as a Site Engineer/Senior Site Engineer with a Main Contractor or Residential Developer.
- Experience using setting out equipment - Eg. total station, GPS and laser levels.
- Knowledge of temporary works coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and able to work on own initiative.
