About Your New Job
As the Health & Safety Manager, you will report directly to the Plant Manager and take full responsibility for driving the health and safety culture across the site.
In this role you will:
- Drive awareness, engagement, and continuous improvement in Health, Safety and Welfare across the organisation.
- Monitor adherence to company safety policies by conducting regular audits, hazard inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Develop and implement accident prevention and risk reduction programmes across the site.
- Investigate incidents and work with management teams to implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Manage site safety KPIs, reporting performance and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Design and deliver health and safety training, toolbox talks, and induction programmes for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Ensure site compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and internal safety initiatives.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders on health and safety matters.
This role carries a high level of responsibility and will play a key part in maintaining a safe and compliant operational environment.
What Skills You Need
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Degree level qualification with a Diploma (or equivalent) in Health & Safety.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety management role, ideally within construction materials, quarrying, manufacturing, or heavy industry.
- Strong knowledge of industrial processes, systems, and safety management practices.
- Experience with ISO 45001 implementation and auditing.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong IT and reporting skills.
