Are you a Documentary Editor? We're looking for you to join our team and develop a documentary series for YouTube.
The goal is to create an enjoyable and inspiring mini-documentary about how the games, comics, and films from our fantasy world “Soul Atlas” were made.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
We are creating films, games, and comics for our fantasy universe (think Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, etc., but smaller). We started 4+ years ago as a small team who were initially supposed to package a TV show.
Finding ourselves unwilling to sign away our IP, we decided to build out the universe ourselves to retain creative control. Now, our team has grown to over 200 members across multiple creative and operational verticals.
Our current slate includes short films, a comic book series, and two games (a card game and a TTRPG). We also produce music, art, and have our own in-house media marketing and operations.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the director to develop ideas for the episodes on YouTube (title, thumbnail, structure, thematic material)
- Edit the main documentary and take charge of its creative direction with weekly input by the director
- Create teasers for the episodes to be shared on various social media platforms for promotional purposes
- Maintain communication with the director and the documentary team to source assets you require and track progress
- Maintain control & check quality of audiovisual material you receive
YOU
- Solid editing skills in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
- A good sense for long-form & documentary storytelling
- Good at thinking through complex trade-offs in narrative, tone, production value, time required etc.
- Are not easily satisfied: If there is potential, we need to make use of it.
- Speak Professional English
- You are very social and take a natural interest in what people do
- You are outstandingly reliable: You do not ghost the people you are speaking to, let them hanging, or miss out on your duties without informing people around you & handing over your responsibilities where necessary
A PLUS:
- A love for fantasy (think GOT, Witcher, LOTR, LOL, etc.)
COMPENSATION DETAILS
Time Investment:
Part-time. Approximately 10 hours/week (flexible week-on-week, as we understand you may have other commitments) - you set your own boundaries. If it is possible for you, we accept more than 10 hours/week.
Salary:
At this point, there is no salary. We instead give parts of the company away:
Profit Participation:
We are currently in the development of a profit share/royalty system that will award everyone who is part of the project a part of the pie without causing any upfront taxation.
In the apply form you can find a video with a detailed breakdown so you can make a decision.
Thank you very much for considering the collaboration.
We hope to see you on the other side and that we grow together on these exciting projects!
All the best,
Jeannely Iriarte
