Job Description

Global Investor and Distribution Solutions (GIDS) is the business unit offering this role. GIDS delivers global omni-channel investor servicing, including contact centre, using digital services.

About the Role

The Head of Client Assets Oversight (HCAO) is a pre-approved control function (PCF-45) of our MiFID investment firm, SS&C Life & Pensions. HCAO is responsible for oversight and governance of Client Assets set out in the MiFID Regulations and in the Client Assets Requirements (CAR).

Your Responsibilities

• Chairing monthly Client Assets Committee and reporting regularly on Client Assets to the Board and relevant committees, for at least quarterly board meetings.
• Submission of monthly MCAR (Monthly Client Asset Report) to Central Bank of Ireland.
• Reviewing and ensuring that Funds Facilities Agreement and Financial Instruments Facilities Agreements are in accordance with Regulations (CAR regs 54 and 55).
• Ensuring that the CAMP is produced, maintained, reviewed and remains up to date.
• Maintaining Breaches and Incident log, also ensuring that any potential or actual breaches of the CAR are reported in writing to the Board and notified to the CBI.
• Ensuring Client Assets Key Information Document (CAKID) and Client Assets Applicability Matrix (CAAM) are maintained up-to-date and accessible.
• Undertaking an assessment of risks to client assets arising from the Firm’s business model.
• Ensuring Client Asset reporting, including regulatory reporting / returns, is maintained, accurate, effective and timely.
• Engage with internal and external auditors to coordinate the Client Asset audits and reporting relevant findings to the Board.
• Support the development and operation of an effective risk and control environment within the Client Assets Oversight function, ensuring that risks are managed, processes and controls are designed effectively and operated by team members in accordance with documented policies and procedures.

Your Experience

• Detailed understanding and experience operating within a Client Assets Oversight role, with knowledge specifically on Irish CAR rules.
• Experience of Client Asset Audits, Internal audits and 2LOD reviews
• Proven ability to maintain a strong risk management and control framework, inclusive of the ability to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor risks and the offsetting controls
• Clear and structured communicator, able to present complex information in simple context to senior management and Board
• Experience of Production, Validation and submission of monthly MCAR to CBI
• Previous experience of chairing governance committees, managing escalations and reporting
• University degree and/or relevant qualification in Financial Services sector
• Previous experience of working in Wealth Management, MiFID, Custody, or Funds
