Job Details

Care Assistant

As part of the development of our new residential services, we are seeking applications from energetic, enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our team. Candidates should be committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred supports that promote the rights, dignity, wellbeing and independence of the individuals we support.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new residential service supporting individuals to live meaningful and self-directed lives within their home and local community.

This is a full-time position. Contracts are with the service.

Role Function

The Care Assistant works in partnership with individuals who use the service to support them in living meaningful, self-directed and fulfilling lives. The role promotes independence, rights, dignity, inclusion, wellbeing and active participation in community life through the delivery of person-centred and individualised supports.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Care Assistant supports individuals to achieve their personal goals and aspirations while promoting their health, safety and wellbeing. The role is delivered in accordance with St. Aidan's Services' values, organisational policies, New Directions, HIQA Standards and all relevant legislation and national guidance.

Qualification/Requirements:

  • A minimum of QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support, Health Service Skills, Community Care, Nursing Studies, Social Care or another relevant discipline required
  • Minimum of six months relevant experience working with people with an Intellectual Disability and/or autism.
  • Be proficient in both oral and written English language
  • Must hold a full clean driving licence and willing to drive
  • Be available to work mainly night duty shifts & day, evening shifts if required.
