We are recruiting for an experienced Hard Services Facilities Manager - Life Sciences Environment to lead service delivery within a high-profile, newly developed facility in Limerick. Operating in a highly regulated and compliance-driven environment, this role will suit an ambitious facilities professional with experience in pharmaceutical, laboratory, medical device, life sciences or similarly controlled operations.


This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a prestigious site, leading operational performance, compliance, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement within a modern, technically advanced environment.

Role; The successful candidate will take ownership of all facilities operations, contractor performance, compliance, stakeholder management and continuous improvement initiatives across a technically advanced site.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities & Contract Management

Lead the day-to-day delivery of facilities management services across the site.

Manage specialist subcontractors, service providers and vendors.

Oversee both Hard and Soft FM service delivery.

Negotiate and manage service contracts and supplier agreements.

Develop and monitor supplier KPIs and performance standards.

Ensure delivery of services in line with contractual obligations and operational requirements.

Compliance, Health & Safety

Implement and maintain Safe Systems of Work.

Ensure statutory compliance across all facilities-related activities.

Drive a strong health, safety and compliance culture.

Support compliance with ISO 50001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 17025 and ISO 45001 standards.

Support accreditation requirements and audit readiness.

Manage contractor compliance and permit-to-work systems.

Laboratory & Asset Management

Coordinate laboratory support services, including specialist cleaning programmes.

Manage facility assets, maintenance schedules and calibration records.

Review contractor documentation, RAMS and service reports.

Support chemical and facilities-related risk assessment processes.

Ensure facilities services support uninterrupted laboratory operations.

Financial & Operational Management

Manage budgets, forecasts, accruals and cost control initiatives.

Prepare monthly operational and performance reports.

Identify and implement energy management and sustainability initiatives.

Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Stakeholder & Project Management

Act as key point of contact for client stakeholders.

Support capital projects and site upgrades.

Lead operational improvement programmes and best practice initiatives.

Manage escalations and build strong working relationships across the site.



Candidate Requirements

Trade or Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

Strong leadership and people management experience.

Proven facilities management experience within a regulated environment.

Experience managing contractors, vendors and service providers.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Excellent understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements.

Experience managing budgets and operational performance.

Desirable

Experience within laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or life sciences environments.

Exposure to GMP-regulated operations.

Knowledge of laboratory support services and operational requirements.

Experience supporting accredited or audit-driven facilities.

Familiarity with ISO standards and compliance frameworks.
