Architectural Technician / Architectural Technologist (Revit) — Hybrid/ Fully Remote Considered

Location: Bantry, West Cork + site visits (primarily Cork City & Surrounds)

Working pattern: Hybrid (typically 1 day/week in Bantry for team working + 1 day site visits ~once every 2 weeks).

Remote: Considered for the right candidate (some site travel still required)

Hours: 40 hours/week (includes 2 paid hours/week dedicated to fitness or wellbeing)

3DC.ie is not a standard design consultancy. We provide a design-led, high-end service that blends Engineering + Architecture + Project Management.

We work with clients from the earliest stages — sometimes even at business concept development — and then take ideas through every step required to bring them into reality: feasibility, design, statutory approvals, technical design, procurement support, and delivery. We also advise on and coordinate the wider team: specialist consultants, suppliers, and contractors.

The opportunity

We’re hiring an Architectural Technician / Technologist to support our delivery of unique one-off homes, high-quality refurbishments, and standout commercial projects (restaurants, food markets, wellness centres).

We are fully Revit, and you’ll be central to producing both Planning Packs and Technical / IFC Packs, working closely with the Director and delegating tasks to technicians when required.

The role

• Develop and manage Revit models and drawing packages from concept through to construction.
• Produce high-quality Planning Packs and Technical / IFC Packs (GA drawings, details, schedules, submissions).
• Apply and check compliance with Irish Building Regulations, with particular focus on Part B, Part M, and Part L.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to produce buildable, coordinated information (consultants, suppliers, contractors).
• Attend site as needed (typically once every two weeks, mainly around Cork City) to support delivery and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain output quality through standards, QA checks, and improvements to templates/libraries where useful.
• Delegate and coordinate work with technicians when required.

The requirements

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in an Architectural Technician / Technologist role.
• Strong day-to-day Revit capability (confident producing full drawing packs).
• Excellent working knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, especially Part B / Part M / Part L.
• Experience delivering both planning-stage and construction-stage information.
• Strong communication, autonomy, and ability to manage priorities across multiple projects.
• Willingness to travel to Bantry weekly and to site as required.

The Nice to haves

• Lumion experience (we use it).
• Experience on high-end residential detailing and/or commercial fit-outs (restaurants/food concepts).
• Comfort engaging with the wider delivery context (consultant coordination, procurement support, buildability input).
