MES Engineer:
We have a new opportunity for an experienced MES Engineer to join the Team, supporting an Instrument Connectivity project in Ireland.
In this hybrid role, you will play a key part of our client’s broader award-winning digital transformation initiatives. Specifically focusing on integrating the Emerson Syncade MES with laboratory instruments to enable seamless data exchange, supporting real-time process control and regulatory compliance in their large molecule manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, configure, and implement interfaces between Syncade MES and laboratory instruments as part of our client’s Instrument Connectivity project.
• Perform hands-on configuration and testing of instrument interfaces, including protocol validation and data mapping.
• Develop and update MES recipes to support new instrument integration and process changes.
• Manage change control documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and site procedures through validation of MES/instrument interfaces.
• Troubleshoot and resolve MES and instrument interface issues, providing root cause analysis and
implementing corrective actions, optimising system performance for large molecule production
workflows.
• Support validation activities including IQ/OQ/PQ related to MES and instrument connectivity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, end-users, and external third parties to ensure robust integration of the MES (Syncade) with the Lab instruments and LIMS
Key Requirements :
• Bachelors degree in engineering or related field with 5+ years’ experience in Syncade MES within
the life sciences industry.
• A strong understanding of manufacturing processes and practices within a GMP environment.
• Hands on experience integrating MES systems with laboratory instruments or L2 systems such as
DCS, SCADA, or PLCs.
• Familiarity with MQTT, HiveMQ, or similar protocols for real-time data integration.
• Broad technical experience in the delivery of MES systems/projects including design, configuration, and testing.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving ability to identity the root-cause and resolve technical issues related to MES systems, configurations, or integrations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid working relationships
that enable cross-functional cooperation and enhance stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with LIMS (e.g., LabVantage) or LES integration is a plus
