We're one global team driven by our common purpose to deliver a better world. Join us. Job Description AECOM is looking for a Rail Engineering Manager to take a pivotal role in one of Ireland's most exciting infrastructure moments. With a strong pipeline of light and heavy rail projects being tendered by Irish Rail, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, and Translink, this is an opportunity to shape how Ireland moves. You'll work across landmark programmes including the Western Rail Corridor, DART+, Luas network expansions, Belfast Line upgrades, and the reinstatement of the Lisburn–Antrim line — projects that will define Ireland's transport landscape for generations. Here’s what you’ll do: You'll lead project delivery across Ireland, providing technical leadership from early-stage development through to execution, and ensuring our work consistently meets client expectations. Beyond delivery, you'll play an active role in winning work — contributing to positioning strategy, leading tender preparation, and building the kind of client relationships that open doors. A key part of the role is connecting the dots. You'll draw on specialist expertise from rail engineering disciplines across the UK and AECOM's wider Enterprise Capability network, bringing the right knowledge to the right projects at the right time. Multi-disciplinary teams will look to you as a central coordinator — someone who keeps collaboration tight and knowledge flowing. Collaborate - Lead the Design on multi-disciplinary projects ensuring our engineers deliver integrated designs and building effective relationships with our technical teams and Clients. Build relationships with technical teams within the organisation and individuals inside and outside of the organisation to achieve project delivery. Deliver -Be responsible for interpreting, planning, organising, executing, and coordinating complex, novel and large multi-disciplinary projects and tenders. These projects will range from stations to train maintenance and servicing depots and power supply upgrades. We also provide support for other parts of AECOM’s business on major multidisciplinary projects. Safeguard - Lead technical management of Safe by Design (Including compliance with CDM and CSM). Be responsible for appointment of competent discipline lead engineers for technical delivery. Plan for engineering tasks concerned with unique problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches. Anticipate -Working through the complexities of our Transportation projects, you will work with our clients to overcome them. Innovate -Bring your ideas to the door, we are proud of our innovative and industry leading minds! At AECOM, we value everyone's unique contributions and perspectives. Thrive -Contribute to the development of the other members of the LSE EM Team, including mentoring, line management and team briefings. Lead the application of AECOM policies and procedures as they apply to technical delivery. Contribute to the development of the Engineering Management profession within AECOM, working with the Regional Engineering Manager to develop processes, procedures and training. Sustain - Build sustainability into projects to provide holistic solutions to client’s challenges.
