Role Overview
We're partnering with a leading global financial services organisation that is investing heavily in regulatory change and business transformation across its markets and operations functions.
As part of this strategic programme, we're seeking an experienced Regulatory Business Analyst to support the delivery of complex regulatory initiatives. Working across business, operations and technology teams, you'll play a key role in analysing regulatory requirements, defining business solutions and ensuring successful implementation of change across the organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Business Analyst with strong regulatory change experience who enjoys working in fast-paced environments and partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver meaningful transformation.
The successful candidate will combine strong business analysis skills with a solid understanding of financial services regulation, change delivery and stakeholder engagement.
What You'll Be DoingBusiness Analysis & Requirements
- Elicit, analyse and document business, functional and non-functional requirements for regulatory change initiatives.
- Translate regulatory requirements into clear business processes, user stories and solution specifications.
- Facilitate workshops with business and technology stakeholders to define current and future state processes.
- Produce high-quality business analysis artefacts, including process maps, gap analyses, impact assessments and requirements documentation.
Regulatory Change Delivery
- Support the delivery of regulatory programmes from initiation through to implementation.
- Analyse the impact of new and changing regulations across business functions and operating models.
- Work closely with project managers, SMEs and technology teams to ensure successful delivery against regulatory deadlines.
- Assist with solution design, testing, implementation planning and business readiness activities.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Compliance, Risk, Operations, Technology and Front Office teams.
- Act as the link between business users and technical delivery teams to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Present findings, recommendations and progress updates to project governance forums and senior stakeholders.
- Support decision-making through clear analysis and effective communication.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes, controls and operational efficiency.
- Support the implementation of target operating models and process optimisation initiatives.
- Ensure solutions are aligned with business strategy, regulatory expectations and best practice.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across business analysis methodologies and delivery frameworks.
Testing & Implementation
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, execution and defect management.
- Assist with implementation planning, business readiness and post-implementation reviews.
- Ensure regulatory solutions are delivered with appropriate governance, documentation and controls.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst delivering regulatory change within Financial Services.
- Strong understanding of the full Business Analysis lifecycle and change delivery methodologies.
- Experience gathering, documenting and managing business and functional requirements.
- Knowledge of financial services regulations such as MiFID II, EMIR, Dodd-Frank, Basel, MAR, FCA or PRA regulatory frameworks.
- Strong process mapping and business process improvement experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
- Experience working across business and technology teams within complex transformation programmes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within challenging regulatory timelines.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within Investment Banking, Capital Markets or Wholesale Banking.
- Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Experience using business analysis tools such as JIRA, Confluence or Visio.
- Understanding of data analysis, data lineage or regulatory reporting processes.
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and implementation activities.
- Relevant Business Analysis or project management certifications (e.g. BCS, CBAP, PMI-PBA or Agile qualifications).
