About the Role
The role will operate within the Commercial Operations Department (Cork Office) and as a member of a dedicated team of shipping professionals who ensure Ardmore operational standards are set and maintained to the highest industry standards.
The key expectations of the role are to provide timely and accurate responses in order to facilitate the effective securing of voyages and afterwards to ensure voyage execution balances prudent operational standards with astute revenue generation.
The Position reports to the West Team Lead who has responsibility for commercial operational activities
West of Suez.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Pre-Fixture Planning: Collaborate with the chartering team to understand contract terms and voyage requirements. Develop optimal voyage plans considering vessel specifications, cargo compatibility, and route optimization
• Operational Excellence: Oversee all aspects of voyage execution. Monitor vessel performance, port calls, bunkering, and cargo operations, ensuring compliance with charter party terms and maximizing efficiency
• Problem Solving: Anticipate and proactively address potential delays, weather disruptions, or technical issues with the vessel. Develop contingency plans to minimize costs and ensure timely arrivals / departures
• Relationship Building: Maintain strong communication with charterers, brokers, agents, and other stakeholders. Provide regular updates, address concerns, and foster a reputation for reliability
• Data-Driven Optimization: Track voyage costs, analyze performance data, and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with commercial teams to enhance future voyage planning and profitability
Key Skills and Experience
• A degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Logistics, or a related field
• Voyage Manager or seafaring experience preferred
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical thinking, and a keen eye for detail
• The ability to work independently while collaborating within a fast-paced team environment
