Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Graduate Department: Environmental, Health & Safety Reporting To: Health & Safety Manager Location: Tipperary Town About The Role We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Graduate to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to begin a career within a leading dairy cooperative, supporting the delivery of a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible workplace across our manufacturing and operational sites. Working closely with the EHS team, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in health and safety management, environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, risk assessment, and continuous improvement projects while developing a strong understanding of dairy processing operations. Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the cooperative's Environmental, Health & Safety Management System.
- Assist with workplace inspections, safety audits, and environmental monitoring activities.
- Participate in risk assessments, hazard identification, and the development of control measures.
- Help investigate incidents, near misses, and environmental events, identifying root causes and supporting corrective actions.
- Assist in maintaining EHS documentation, records, policies, procedures, and legal compliance registers.
- Support the delivery of health, safety, and environmental training and awareness programmes.
- Monitor key EHS performance indicators and prepare reports for management.
- Assist with waste management, energy efficiency, water conservation, and environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Support compliance with environmental permits, licences, and relevant legislation.
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities, drills, and business continuity planning.
- Work collaboratively with production, engineering, quality, maintenance, and other departments to promote a positive safety culture.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing risk, improving environmental performance, and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Stay informed of changes in health, safety, and environmental legislation and industry best practice.
EssentialSkills & Experience
- Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in developing a career in Environmental, Health & Safety within the food or dairy industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Full driving licence (if travel between sites is required).
Desirable
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Understanding of food manufacturing or dairy processing environments.
- Familiarity with Irish environmental and health & safety legislation.
- Experience through internships, work placements, or university projects related to EHS.
