Overview AtkinsRéalis, a global leader in engineering and project management, is hiring Senior Resident Engineer (Civil) and a Resident Engineer (M&E) to manage and supervise large waste water treatment plant upgrades in East Galway - This a 2 year project in the Mountbellow / Ballygar areas – ideal for a candidate immigrating back to Ireland. Your Role Responsibilities As the Resident Engineer, you will be the key representative on-site, ensuring successful delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee all aspects of construction delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure works are carried out in line with contract documents and specifications, including rigorous testing and quality assurance.
  • Health & Safety Oversight: Implement and monitor Uisce Éireann safety policies, review HSQE documentation (RAMS, TMP), and conduct weekly site safety reviews.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact for Uisce Éireann, project managers, and contractors, providing clear updates and resolving issues promptly.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Report and manage incidents, assist in investigations, and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor workmanship and materials to meet required standards, ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.

About You We're seeking experienced professionals who can lead with confidence and deliver excellence on complex Civil / M&E engineering projects. Ideally, you will bring:

  • Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent) years of mechanical and electrical engineering / civil engineering experience.
  • Proven experience administering Public Works and FIDIC contracts.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Ability to review technical documentation, monitor quality standards, and oversee compliance.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams and liaise with stakeholders.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
