Head of Project Delivery

Overview

Barden is partnering exclusively with a leading organisation in the renewable energy and infrastructure sector to appoint a Project Delivery Leader. This senior role has responsibility for providing programme-level direction to major infrastructure projects and will play a huge part in supporting Ireland’s wider carbon‑neutral ambitions.

The organisation is well capitalised and positioned to take full advantage of a substantial project pipeline, creating a stable and growth‑orientated environment for an experienced delivery professional.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle delivery of major renewable or infrastructure programmes, from early development through planning, construction, and final handover.
• Provide programme-level governance, ensuring structured decision-making, effective sequencing, and robust risk management.
• Work collaboratively with internal technical specialists across engineering, grid, procurement, commercial, and construction.
• Drive commercial outcomes through strong financial insight, cost control, and contractual awareness.
• Implement best-practice frameworks and support continuous improvement across delivery processes.
• Represent the delivery function confidently with both internal leadership and external stakeholders.

• Programme Leadership: Ability to manage complex, multi-workstream programmes.
• Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial performance, budgeting, and commercial risk.
• Risk Management: Proven capability in identifying, assessing, and mitigating delivery risks.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Effective communicator with the ability to coordinate and influence diverse teams.
• Execution Excellence: Demonstrated track record of raising standards and improving delivery performance.

Candidate Profile

Suitable candidates will have experience delivering large-scale capital or infrastructure programmes within renewable energy, utilities, engineering, or major construction. Renewable sector experience is advantageous but not essential for those with strong programme leadership capability and commercial judgement.
