Scientist

We are currently looking for a Senior Primary Packaging Scientist with 5+ years of experience in parenteral drug packaging design and medical container engineering within a regulated healthcare environment.

This is a 9-12 month freelance contract with likelihood of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the SME and lead and support end-to-end product lifecycle activities, from early development through to commercialisation and post-market maintenance
• Provide technical expertise in primary packaging materials, container closure systems, and compatibility for sterile drug products
• Drive packaging innovation, design optimisation, and risk assessment to enhance product performance, stability, and patient safety
• Troubleshoot complex packaging challenges and implement compliant, robust solutions aligned with industry standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to deliver integrated packaging strategies
• Support the development of new products while maintaining and improving existing marketed solutions
• Champion continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies to advance packaging capabilities
• Contribute to the delivery of high-quality, reliable medical packaging solutions that support innovation and improved patient outcomes

Requirements:

• PhD or MSc in a life-science related field
• Hands-on experience with the design and development of primary packaging for combination (parenteral) products
• Experience with CCS (container closure systems) and CCI (container closure integrity)
