Resident Medical Officer Lead - Permanent (39 Hours)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Resident Medical Officer Lead to join the Bon Secours Health System Hospital Galway, Ireland's Largest Private Healthcare provider.

Job Purpose:

The Medical Registrar Lead plays an important role in the delivery of acute medical care services, and liaises with the Consultant and hospital staff, including nursing staff and other health professionals in providing quality patient care.

• The RMO Lead will be expected to oversee clinical activity for Medical Assessment Unit patients and acute medical admissions
• The RMO Lead will ensure that post-call medical patients are routinely reviewed by the doctor on duty and when requested by the admitting Consultant and/or nursing staff
• Full registration in the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Irish Medical Council

Ideal Candidate:

• Registered with the Medical Council of Ireland
• MRCPI Qualified or in process of qualification
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills with a solution focused approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
• Previous experience of working within a JCI accredited hospital is an advantage
• A post graduate management qualification is desirable
• Current ACLS/PALS training
• Experience in leading cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Flexible approach to work patterns – 8-12 Hour Shifts up to 39 Hours Per Week
• Ability to document accurately with excellent attention to detail

Essential Qualifications:

• Full registration in the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Irish Medical Council
• Satisfactory post-graduate training and experience in the medical profession
• Membership of the College of Physicians is desirable
