Role: Service Manager (Person in Charge)

Salary: €58,152 to €76,255 (inclusive of 2 long service increments)

Are you an experienced manager with a passion for supporting people with disabilities to live fulfilling, meaningful lives?
We are seeking an experienced and values-led Service Manager to lead and develop our residential service in South Wicklow. This is a key leadership role within our Regional Team, with responsibility for ensuring high-quality, safe, person-centred services and creating an environment where the people we support can achieve their goals and live their best possible lives.
As Person in Charge (PIC), you will play a central role in ensuring regulatory compliance, safeguarding, quality and continuous improvement, while providing strong leadership to a diverse multidisciplinary team.
About The Role
You will have overall responsibility for the effective management and development of the service. You will lead operational delivery, workforce planning, quality improvement, safeguarding, risk management and financial oversight, while building strong relationships with the people we support, their families, staff and external stakeholders.
You will be a visible and inspirational leader who promotes a culture of excellence, partnership, integrity, respect and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage our residential service in South Wicklow, ensuring excellent standards of person-centred support.
- Provide visible, effective leadership to multidisciplinary and frontline teams.
- Manage staffing, rostering, recruitment, performance, development and retention.
- Act as Person in Charge (PIC), ensuring compliance with HIQA requirements and relevant legislation and standards.
- Promote a Human Rights-Based approach and ensure the rights, choices and wellbeing of people using our services remain at the heart of service delivery.
- Lead safeguarding, risk management, quality improvement and audit action plans.
- Build strong relationships with individuals, families, advocates, staff, the HSE and external stakeholders.
- Monitor budgets and resources, ensuring accountability and value for money.
- Drive service development, change and continuous improvement in partnership with regional and national colleagues.
You will be an experienced people leader who combines strong operational management skills with a genuine commitment to supporting people with disabilities to live ordinary, valued lives in their communities.
You will bring:
- A relevant third-level or professional qualification.
- At least three years' management experience within disability services, personal social services or healthcare.
- Demonstrable experience of strategic leadership and people management.
- Knowledge of current policy, practice and developments within the disability sector.
- Experience and understanding of the HIQA inspection process and action planning.
- Knowledge of relevant disability standards, adult safeguarding and Trust in Care.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills.
- The ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good IT and administrative skills.
- Eligibility to live and work in the Republic of Ireland and fluency in written and spoken English.
- A full clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle, with a willingness to travel between locations.
