The Supply Chain and Material Planner will be responsible for the coordination and execution of all activities related to the planning and purchase of excipients, devices and components. You will also be responsible for the operational supply chain, covering procurement, expediting and logistics. This role will form an integral part of a team which optimizes the flow of materials (order to release) while considering warehouse capacities and inventory targets. This individual will collaborate closely with finance, legal, project managers, global supply chain, engineering and operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Planning
- Ensuring full procurement process is properly conducted from creating suppliers, creating part numbers, raising POs, placing POs to supplier, receiving payment by collaborating with technical team, supply chain managers, global planner, category manager and finance
- Collaborating with the category manager, coordinating and managing the supplier with supplier agreements and contracts put in place when and where applicable. Identifying potential constraints and interface between supplier and key internal stakeholders to ensure issue resolution
- Planning material delivery schedules with suppliers in alignment with the global planner to meet sales requirements
- Maintaining Raw Materials and Component inventories within target, while minimizing excess, obsolete and expired materials
- Partnering with Category Manager to drive Supplier performance improvement, including quality and on-time delivery in line with production requirements
- Pro-actively support resolution of invoice queries by being the main interface to finance
Supply Chain Management
- Supply Chain lead for designated projects
- Build the Supply Chain Project Plan, global cost model and the project cashflow for decision making
- Manage the procurement of raw materials with vendors and plan production with manufacturers to ensure on time and in full delivery
- Challenge material and production costs and lead times (raw materials, shipping, inventory, etc.)
- Coordinate shipping of goods in cooperation with the global and local freight manager
- Track actual supply, production and shipment vs planned
- Ensure ERP system is properly updated
Inventory Management
- Conduct monthly inventory (ERP report)
- Monitor slow and obsoletes with the objective of staying within defined target
Expertise and Continuous Improvement
- Identify issues and opportunities for improvements in the supply chain team and process
- Lead transformation projects with cross-functional teams to improve the processes and tools
- Other duties as assigned by direct manager.
Education and Experience
- Degree in Procurement, Business, Purchasing or related disciplines
- 3-5 years' experience in a Supply Chain, Material Planner or related role
Skills and Competencies
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Proactive and problem-solving oriented
- Flexible approach and ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Team player, ability to work with other departments, and build relationships with them, strong communication skills
- Good command of both spoken and written English
- Advanced user of MS Excel, Previous experience with ERPs and particularly Dynamics 365
