Civil Design Engineer, Galway

DesignBuild Search are working closely with one of Ireland leading Engineering consultancies. With offices in Galway, Limerick, Dublin and Sligo they are going through an exciting period of growth. Our Client is now looking for experienced Design Engineers. The successful candidates will join a strong team of professionals in the Building & Infrastructure Division who cover a broad range of civil engineering and building projects for both private and public sector clients.

Key Requirements

• Minimum Level 8 qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• 2-3 years of relevant work experience for the Design Civil Engineer role
• A minimum of 5+ years relevant work experience for the Project Civil Engineer role
• 8+ years of experience for the Senior Civil Engineer role
• Design Experience on building projects (residential, mixed-use developments, industrial and commercial) in the public & private sector
• Ability to achieve tight deadlines working as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office packages such as Excel, Word and Powerpoint
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Rev Revit, Bentley MicroStation & Rebar; Caddie & Utility programs for Drainage and HECRAS and Solidworks
• Excellent verbal and written (English) communication skills

Responsibilities

As a member of the Building & Infrastructure Team you will be required to undertake the following duties, which may vary depending on the role (Design / Project / Senior Civil Engineer):

• Preparation of contract specifications and drawings
• Surveying and site inspections
• Preparation and Review of preliminary designs and reports using a variety of computer packages and subsequent preparation of detailed design drawings and specifications.
• Contribute to the project team on a day to day basis
• Direct communication and meetings with Clients
• Implementing the company’s ISO policies and procedures
• Assist in the Preparation of tenders
