Our client is seeking an experienced E&I Construction Supervisor to oversee the construction phase of a pharmaceutical project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the proper and timely construction of the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) scope in accordance with safety and quality standards, detailed design, and contract requirements.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist the Construction Manager (CM) with constructability reviews and interactive planning sessions with the Client and Design Team.
- Ensure that the construction phase is adequately resourced with suitably capable, qualified, and experienced personnel, including all necessary plant, tools, temporary facilities, and other resources.
- Adhere to best-in-class site execution Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as guidance for Field Supervisors.
- Comply with the project’s construction methods, procedures, and practices, particularly related to safety, quality assurance, personnel, and industrial relations. Report any deficiencies immediately and propose solutions.
- Ensure statutory and legal requirements are properly observed.
- Understand the implications of the Health and Safety at Work Act and Regulations as they affect employee responsibilities.
- Keep abreast of developments in the construction industry and assist in improving the project's capabilities.
- Ensure that the projects are constructed to drawings, specifications, applicable standards, good construction practices, within schedule and in accordance with the cost budget.
- Direct and control the activities of the assigned staff and their functions.
- Carry out assessments and appraisals of contractor work and report the results as per project practices.
- Ensure the use of the best available technology and encourage innovative ideas.
- Record and share lessons learned from projects to improve future operations.
- Review contractor progress reports and provide input to the weekly CM reports sent to the Client.
- Attend daily whiteboard meetings and contractor progress meetings as required.
- Manage construction works from pre-construction to system turnover.
- Ensure adherence to criteria outlined in the Quality Plan.
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related field.
- 8+ Years' experience as a E&I Supervisor/Lead in the pharmaceutical sector with strong hands-on electrical AND instrumentation experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Familiar with safety regulations, quality control practices, and construction methods within pharmaceutical environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving project challenges.
