Electrical Quality Control Manager (Power /Electrical frameworks in 38kV and above substations)
Location: Based in Central Ireland around Tipperary area, to cater for sites in Cork, Waterford , Tipp, Dublin, Galway, Wicklow, Wexford. Will be a hybrid role with site travel up to three days a week with a company vehicle.

Our client is growing fast and are currently looking to hire a Project Quality Control Manager with a strong electrical background to ensure that all Substation Asset replacement, maintenance activities, and mini‑pillar replacement works are delivered in full compliance with client standards, statutory regulations, and the company’s Quality Management System while driving continuous improvement across field operations, documentation, and technical processes.
The Project Quality Control Manager will work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, Commissioning Teams, and client representatives to ensure that all works meet the highest standards of workmanship, asset data accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Management & Compliance
Maintain and continuously improve the company’s QMS in line with ISO 9001 and client requirements.
Ensure all substation and mini‑pillar works comply with Ireland's Distribution System Operator (DSO) specifications, technical guidelines, and construction standards.
Conduct Internal Audits, Site Inspections, and quality checks across all asset replacement and maintenance projects.
Prepare for and manage external audits from Ireland's Distribution System Operator (DSO) and certification bodies.
Ensure all quality documentation, procedures, and work instructions remain current and aligned with client updates.
Substations & Mini pillars
Oversee quality assurance for replacement of substation components such as LV boards, RMUs, transformers, switchgear, protection devices, and associated infrastructure.
Ensure all mini‑pillar replacements follow Ireland's Distribution System Operator (DSO) -approved designs, materials, and installation procedures.
Verify correct installation, commissioning, and testing in accordance with Ireland's Distribution System Operator (DSO) standards.
Ensure maintenance activities are carried out to specification, with accurate recording of asset condition, defects, and remedial actions.
Monitor workmanship quality and ensure all safety and operational requirements are met.
Continuous Improvement
Deliver training and toolbox talks on Ireland's Distribution System Operator (DSO), Quality Procedures, and Asset Installation Best practices.
Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across field teams.
Identify recurring issues and implement improvement initiatives to enhance asset reliability and reduce rework.
Required Qualifications & ExperienceQualified Electrician or equivalent Electrical Qualification is essential or strong experience managing quality in this environment
Strong knowledge of Ireland's Distribution System Operator (DSO) standards, particularly relating to substations,LV/MV assets, and mini‑pillar installations.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 45001 (Health & Safety), ISO 14001 (Environment) & ISO 55001 (asset management) is an advantage.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and to provide clear, professional communications with clients and auditors
Full clean driving licence.
Willingness to travel to project sites nationwide.
Eligibility to work in Ireland.
