Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Audio/Linux)12-Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join a leading global technology company working on next-generation embedded and multimedia platforms.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge software solutions across embedded Linux systems, audio technologies, and open-source platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and debug software for ARM-based embedded systems.
  • Develop and maintain Linux kernel components and device drivers.
  • Work with embedded Linux, DSP, and RTOS platforms including Zephyr.
  • Optimize system power, performance, and reliability.
  • Develop and integrate audio software frameworks and drivers.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and system engineering teams.
  • Contribute to open-source projects and upstream development activities.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with ARM-based processors, SoCs, or microcontroller platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Embedded Linux development and debugging.
  • Experience with Linux Kernel and device driver development.
  • Familiarity with Zephyr RTOS and embedded system architectures.
  • Experience with DSP platforms and performance optimization.

Audio & Multimedia Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • ALSA
  • PipeWire
  • Audio playback and recording systems
  • Voice activation and voice call technologies
  • Audio signal processing fundamentals
  • Audio hardware interfaces such as I2S, TDM, and SoundWire
  • CODECs, speaker amplifiers, and digital microphones

Open Source Experience

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Contributions to Linux, PipeWire, ALSA, Zephyr, or related open-source projects.
  • Experience with upstreaming and community-driven development.
  • Understanding of open-source software development lifecycles and product commercialization.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in semiconductor, consumer electronics, telecommunications, automotive, or embedded systems industries.
  • Previous work on multimedia or audio-focused embedded products.
