Staff Embedded Software Engineer – Linux Kernel / PCIe / CXL / Firmware / Device Drivers
We are currently partnered with a semiconductor technology organisation developing next-generation chipsets and high-performance interconnect technologies. This opportunity focuses on embedded software engineering for PCIe and CXL subsystems, with responsibility for developing firmware and drivers, optimising performance and power efficiency, and collaborating closely with hardware and architecture teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug and commercialise embedded firmware and drivers for PCIe and CXL subsystems.
- Develop low-level software for next-generation chipset platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
- Optimise software for performance, power efficiency and reliability.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and future chipset planning.
- Ensure software complies with relevant industry standards and specifications.
- Work closely with hardware and architecture teams on the development and evolution of interconnect technologies.
Key requirements
- 7+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- Strong proficiency in C programming.
- Deep, hands-on expertise in PCIe and CXL technologies.
- Experience with real-time operating systems and embedded platforms.
- Familiarity with ACPI, UEFI, Linux Kernel and Zephyr.
- Proven ability to develop standards-compliant software.
- Demonstrated experience in performance and power optimisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
