Embedded Software Engineer - RTOS Development / Zephyr

We are partnered with a global leader in semiconductors and wireless technology, developing high-performance computing solutions for the Mobile, Automotive, and IoT market segments. The team is looking to hire an Embedded RTOS Software Engineer to drive the development and deployment of real-time operating systems across multiple advanced subsystems.

This is a permanent working opportunity based in Cork, Ireland.

Key responsibilities for this Embedded Software Engineer position:

• Develop and optimize features for both proprietary and open-source RTOS (including Zephyr) across complex subsystems.
• Enhance kernel performance to support Edge AI, 5G, and low-power sensor workloads.
• Architect software blocks meeting strict power, performance, and timing standards for next-gen silicon.
• Lead the customization and porting of RTOS to new hardware targets and contribute to the open-source community.
• Perform deep-system debugging and root-cause analysis using JTAG and Instruction Set Simulators.
• Drive CI/CD improvements and align designs with safety standards like ISO-26262 and ASPICE.

Key requirements:

• Expertise in Embedded C/C++ and Assembly (ARM, RISC-V, or similar).
• Proven experience in RTOS kernel development, with a strong preference for Zephyr.
• Solid understanding of Multi-Core Computer Architecture and memory management.
• Proficiency with debugging tools (Trace32, JTAG, OpenOCD) and Python for automation.
• Familiarity with virtualization environments like QEMU and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions).
