FPGA Design Engineer - 5G / Wireless / Emulation

We are partnered with a global leader in semiconductors and wireless technology. The team is looking to hire an FPGA Design Engineer to architect and implement critical logic for custom emulation hardware, ensuring the successful validation of cutting-edge SoC designs.

This is a permanent working opportunity based in Cork, Ireland.

Key responsibilities for this FPGA Design Engineer position:

• Design and implement high-performance logic for custom emulation platforms using SystemVerilog and RTL.
• Work with industry-standard tools to develop solutions for complex infrastructure needs and custom emulation hardware.
• Perform high-speed design, handle Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) challenges, and manage rigorous timing closure techniques.
• Collaborate with the Global SVE team to drive the continuous development of internal tools, technology, and design flows.
• Mentor and lead other team members, providing technical guidance on complex FPGA architectures.
• Integrate hardware with software components, utilizing C++ and Python for automation and embedded system verification.

Key requirements:

• 5+ years of direct hands-on experience in FPGA design and RTL development.
• Expert proficiency with high-density FPGA families such as Xilinx UltraScale/UltraScale+, MPSoC, or Intel Stratix.
• Mastery of industry-standard FPGA tools from Xilinx (Vivado) or Intel (Quartus).
• Strong understanding of ARM-based designs, embedded Linux, and standard protocols like AXI, PCIe, and Ethernet.
• Highly proficient in scripting and software principles using Python and C++.
