We are partnered with a global leader in semiconductors and wireless technology actively seeking Physical Design Engineers to join their global team focused on the complete physical implementation of next-generation, premium-tier SOCs. The team are looking to hire multiple Physical Design Engineers (ranging seniorities) to help drive and execute all phases of implementation in bleeding-edge technology nodes.

This is a permanent working opportunity based in Cork, Ireland.

Key responsibilities for this Physical Design Engineer position:

• Drive the physical implementation from netlist to GDS for high-speed, complex designs.
• Execute all core steps: Floorplanning, Power planning, Placement, Clock Tree Synthesis (CTS), and Routing with corresponding optimization.
• Conduct research and develop innovative methodologies, scripts, and flows to push the limits of PPA.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (STA, RTL) on timing closure and power optimization.
• Perform complex analyses using statistics and data predictions to track benchmarks and identify improvement areas.

Key requirements:

• 4+ years of relevant experience in Physical Design.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the entire Physical Design (PD) flow from netlist to GDS.
• Good experience and knowledge of tools for PD implementation in advanced technology nodes (10nm and below).
• Excellent understanding of Static Timing Analysis (STA) and timing closure methodologies, including their impact on congestion and power.
• Expert in automation scripting using Perl and TCL to develop and support flows.
• Understanding of Power Analysis, Power Integrity (PI), and Physical Verification (DRC closure).
