Senior Software Engineer – Sensors / Android / Java / Kotlin / C++ / Python / React Native / Wearables
We are currently partnered with a technology organisation developing advanced sensor technologies and software solutions across mobile devices, wearables, smart glasses, and other connected platforms. As part of their continued technology development and commercialisation, they are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer – Sensors to develop applications, tools, and data-processing workflows supporting sensor features from early-stage prototyping through to customer deployment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test Android applications for sensor data collection, validation, and feature demonstrations
- Design, implement, and test cross-platform desktop tools for Windows and Linux
- Develop tools that interact with Android devices for device control, data validation, visualisation, and post-processing
- Develop software using technologies including Java, Kotlin, Python, C++, .NET, and C#
- Develop Java-based software components using industry-standard design patterns and development methodologies
- Develop software for prototype and reference platforms across smartphones, wearables, and smart-glasses form factors
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
- 2+ years of professional software engineering or related experience
- Hands-on experience developing Android applications using the Android SDK
- Experience with Android Studio or similar Android development environments
- Strong object-oriented programming skills in Java and/or Kotlin
- Proven ability to deliver production-quality software
- Strong experience developing system-level applications and tools using C++ and Python
- Experience developing customer-facing demonstration and test applications
- Experience with rapid software prototyping and internal validation
