About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading main contractor with a strong presence across Ireland and Europe, delivering high-profile projects across sectors including Data Centres, Life Sciences, Aviation, Commercial, Pharma, Industrial, and Education.
Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, we are seeking Senior Quantity Surveyors to join high-performing commercial teams working on large-scale, high-value projects. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of multiple projects to maximise profitability and ensure successful delivery
- Manage and mentor commercial teams and act as Commercial Lead on projects
- Oversee monthly Value Cost Reconciliation (VCR), forecasting, and financial reporting
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate monthly payment applications and final accounts
- Manage project cashflow forecasting (internal & external)
- Review tender documentation, identifying risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures
- Administer and manage contracts including RIAI, FIDIC, JCT, GCC, and bespoke forms
- Manage change control processes, including variation identification, pricing, and negotiation
- Assess and quantify delay, disruption, and Extension of Time (EOT) claims
- Ensure all contractual correspondence is issued in accordance with contract requirements
- Procure subcontractors and suppliers; prepare, issue, and manage subcontracts
- Oversee the commercial performance of subcontractors, including payments and final accounts
- Monitor project progress to ensure delivery on time and within budget
- Provide accurate cost reporting, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions
- Liaise with clients, design teams, and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships
- Ensure all project team members understand contractual and commercial obligationsCandidate Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering, or related discipline
- Commercial experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (RIAI, FIDIC, JCT, GCC, etc.)
- Proven experience on medium to large-scale projects across multiple sectors
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage project finances independently
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to critically analyse contracts and resolve commercial challenges
- High level of attention to detail and organisational skills
- Full driver’s licence (preferred)
Desirable
- Experience with software such as Cubit, CostX, COINS
