Accounts Assistant

Kilkenny / Tipperary Region | Multi-Site

We're partnering with a successful multi-site organisation seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its finance team. This is a varied, hands-on role offering exposure across the full finance function, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their accounting experience within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Based in the Kilkenny/Tipperary region, the role will also involve regular travel to a second site in Cork (typically two days per week), with mileage fully reimbursed.

The Role

You'll gain experience across a broad range of finance responsibilities, including:

• Purchase ledger processing and supplier reconciliations
• Sales ledger and customer invoicing
• Credit control and debtor management
• Bank, credit card and account reconciliations
• Assisting with VAT returns and Revenue submissions
• Payroll administration support
• Month-end journals, accruals and prepayments
• Management accounts support
• Audit preparation and general finance administration

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• 1-3 years' experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
• Experience with purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups and pivot tables
• Experience using an accounting package such as Sage, Xero, SAP, Surf or similar
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
• A full clean driving licence and access to your own transport

Desirable:

• Accounting Technician qualification (or currently studying)
• Experience within a multi-site business
• Payroll experience
• Exposure to VAT returns and Revenue Online Service (ROS)
