Maintenance Manager

A leading food manufacturing company based in West Cork is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead engineering reliability, maintenance strategy and automation performance across a large-scale 24/7 production facility.

This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for a team of engineering and maintenance professionals, offering the opportunity to shape site-wide maintenance strategy, improve plant reliability and support major engineering projects within a highly automated manufacturing environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will provide leadership across maintenance, electrical infrastructure and industrial automation, ensuring maximum equipment reliability, operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the site maintenance and reliability strategy
• Managing maintenance operations across a complex 24/7 manufacturing environment
• Driving improvements in equipment uptime, asset performance and preventative maintenance
• Providing technical leadership across PLC, SCADA and industrial control systems
• Supporting capital projects from design through commissioning
• Leading root cause investigations and reliability improvement initiatives
• Managing engineering contractors, maintenance systems and engineering budgets
• Developing and mentoring a high-performing engineering and maintenance team
• Working closely with Production, Quality and Engineering to deliver operational excellence

About You

You will be an experienced maintenance leader with a strong technical background gained within food manufacturing, FMCG or another highly automated process environment.

You will have:

• Degree or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or a related discipline
• Extensive experience leading maintenance within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA and industrial automation
• Experience managing electrical infrastructure and plant utilities
• Proven success improving equipment reliability and maintenance performance
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Experience delivering engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives
