Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong CAD design experience to support the development, modification, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, fixtures, and test systems. The role involves collaborating with scientists, technicians, and cross-functional engineering teams to design and improve mechanical components used in research and testing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, and laboratory fixtures using CAD software.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
• Develop prototypes and support testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
• Work closely with laboratory staff to understand equipment requirements and improve functionality.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and design reviews.
• Coordinate with suppliers and machine shops for fabrication and procurement of components.
• Ensure designs comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years of mechanical design experience (adjust based on seniority level).
• Proficiency in CAD software such as:
• SolidWorks
• AutoCAD
• Autodesk Inventor
• CATIA
• Experience creating detailed engineering drawings and 3D models.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and mechanical systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a laboratory, R&D, pharmaceutical, medical device, or scientific environment.
• Familiarity with test equipment, instrumentation, and experimental setups.
• Knowledge of GD&T, FEA, and design for manufacture (DFM).
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
