Our client is a leading employer with operations across Ireland and Northern Ireland, supporting a large multi-site workforce. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations while partnering with key stakeholders across HR, Finance and the wider business.
Your new role
This is a hybrid role based in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick, with flexible working arrangements available from day one. The company is open to candidates seeking either a full-time position or a part-time arrangement of 3-4 days per week.This is a fixed term contract role with a duration of 12-18 months.
As Payroll Manager, you will lead a team of six direct reports across Ireland and Northern Ireland and be responsible for:
- Overseeing the processing of multiple payrolls across Ireland and Northern Ireland
- Managing and developing a team of six payroll professionals
- Providing payroll, compensation and reward cost analysis to senior management
- Acting as the subject matter expert on payroll, reward, benefits and pension-related matters
- Designing and implementing variable pay and incentive schemes
- Managing monthly accruals, prepayments, analysis and payroll-related financial postings
- Supporting monthly reporting requirements and annual audit processes in partnership with Finance
- Maintaining and enhancing payroll policies, procedures and controls
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external payroll providers
- Monitoring legislative and market developments relating to payroll, reward and benefits
- Leading payroll and process improvement projects across multiple stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience as a Payroll Manager, ideally gained within a large, complex multi-site organisation. Previous experience operating Irish and UK payrolls is highly desirable, along with experience of computerised Time & Attendance systems. You will have strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities and experience reporting from HR systems. An understanding of employment law as it relates to reward and pensions is important, as is the ability to provide insight from internal and external data. You will be comfortable leading projects across multiple stakeholders and possess strong consultancy, communication and relationship management skills. An IPASS qualification is desirable but not essential, with previous Irish payroll processing experience being the key requirement.
