Job Summary

The Material Handler plays a key role in supporting production by ensuring raw materials, components, and finished goods are safely received, stored, prepared, and delivered throughout the manufacturing process. The role involves material handling, inventory support, basic preparation work, and maintaining an organised and efficient workshop environment to support production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, inspect, and store raw materials and supplies in designated storage locations.
  • Pull, stage, and deliver materials and components to production workstations in accordance with job requirements.
  • Maintain accurate material identification, labelling, and stock rotation practices.
  • Assist with inventory counts and report material shortages or discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Cut and prepare plastic materials to specified dimensions using basic workshop equipment where required.
  • Support production teams by performing basic preparation tasks, including deburring, sanding, and material preparation.
  • Assist with loading and unloading deliveries and finished products in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment while adhering to all company health and safety procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or material handling environment preferred.
  • Experience operating hand and power tools is desirable.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read measurements and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to perform manual handling duties safely.
  • Forklift licence.
