Production Manager
An established and growing Irish business within the construction and engineered products sector is seeking an experienced Production Manager to take ownership of a busy manufacturing operation.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership position suited to someone who has managed significant production teams ideally within a construction-related manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of production while driving improvements across people, processes, productivity, quality and delivery.
The Role
Reporting to senior management, you will lead the production function and ensure projects and products move efficiently through the manufacturing process in line with programme, quality and cost requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing a sizeable production workforce through supervisors and team leads
- Managing daily and weekly production planning, labour allocation, workflow and capacity
- Ensuring production targets and project deadlines are consistently achieved
- Driving improvements in productivity, output, efficiency and manufacturing processes
- Identifying production bottlenecks and implementing practical solutions
- Developing supervisors and strengthening accountability and performance across the production team
- Improving production planning, structure, communication and operational discipline
- Working closely with Engineering, Design, Procurement, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations
- Ensuring materials, labour and resources are aligned with production requirements
- Monitoring production KPIs and using performance data to identify areas for improvement
- Supporting continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives
- Maintaining high standards across health & safety, quality and housekeeping
- Playing a key role in supporting future growth, increased capacity and the continued development of the manufacturing operation
The Person
We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced production, operational or manufacturing leaders who have worked within a construction-related or project-based manufacturing environment.
You should bring:
- Strong experience managing production teams within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrable people leadership experience, ideally managing through supervisors or team leaders
- A track record of improving productivity, processes, workflow or manufacturing performance
- Strong production planning and resource management capability
- Experience operating in an environment where quality and delivery deadlines are critical
- The ability to identify operational problems and implement practical improvements
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to lead from the production floor
- A structured, accountable and commercially aware approach to manufacturing
