Essential Requirements
• EU or UK passport or existing right to work in Ireland
• Recognised trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working on heavy commercial vehicles
• Experience working with Volvo trucks highly desirable
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good level of written and spoken English

Our client is a well-established transport company operating a modern fleet of heavy goods vehicles across Ireland. The company maintains high standards across its fleet, including Volvo trucks, ensuring reliability, safety, and operational efficiency at all times.
They are now seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join their team to support ongoing fleet maintenance and workshop operations.
Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing HGVs, ensuring all vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on HGVs
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
• Repair engines, braking systems, transmissions, and suspension systems
• Work on manufacturer-specific diagnostic systems
• Ensure all work is completed to road safety and compliance standards
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Support fleet inspections and ensure vehicles are test-ready
Qualifications
• Relevant trade qualification (Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent)
• Experience working in a commercial vehicle workshop
• Knowledge of diagnostic software and modern vehicle systems
• Full clean driving licence (C licence advantageous but not essential)
Salary & Benefits
• Salary: €48,000 – €55,000 per year (depending on experience)
