As part of MetLife’s Global Security team, you’ll work alongside world-class experts to protect MetLife, our customers and our colleagues. The team is responsible for managing cybersecurity, IT risks and vulnerabilities, physical security, and more. In this fast-paced, mission-driven environment, you’ll join outstanding teammates to expand your skills, collaborate across the organization and implement innovative approaches to safeguard MetLife when it matters most. Ready to make an impact? Join us if you want to embrace the rapidly evolving environment and use transformative technology to integrate and build security into the foundation of key initiatives across MetLife.

The Opportunity

The Manager, Information Security – Identity & Access Management, EMEA is responsible for coordinating and strengthening Identity and Access Management operations across a large and diverse regional environment. The role provides regional oversight of IAM operations, supports the deployment of global security standards, and partners with country, application, infrastructure, risk, compliance, and audit teams to ensure access controls are effective, consistent, and aligned with regulatory and business expectations.

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day IAM operational activities, lead regional coordination for IAM projects and corporate rollouts, support remediation of access control gaps, and drive continuous improvement across identity governance, access administration, privileged access, authentication, and access certification processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regional oversight and coordination of Identity & Access Management (IAM) operations across EMEA.
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to global security standards, policies, and IAM controls across countries and business units.
  • Lead regional coordination and execution of Global Security IAM projects and initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement of IAM processes, including identity governance, access administration, authentication, privileged access management, and access recertification.
  • Partner with application owners, infrastructure teams, country IT teams, risk, compliance, and audit functions to ensure effective and consistent access controls.
  • Identify, track, and remediate access control weaknesses, gaps, and security risks across the region.
  • Support audit, compliance, risk management, evidence collection, issue remediation, and control assurance activities related to access management.
  • Ensure IAM practices align with regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and business expectations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate and govern access reviews, role-based access controls (RBAC), segregation of duties (SoD), and privileged account management processes.
  • Lead, coach, and coordinate teams delivering IAM operational services within a complex regional environment.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and influence global teams, technology owners, application owners, and control partners to achieve security objectives.
  • Monitor progress, track commitments, escalate risks, and drive accountability through structured governance and reporting.
  • Utilize approved AI tools to improve operational efficiency, reporting, documentation, analysis, and decision support while maintaining appropriate oversight and quality control.

Required Qualifications

Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 7+ years of professional experience in Information Security, IT Risk, Identity and Access Management, or related technology functions, preferably within financial services or another regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of IAM operating models, identity lifecycle management, access governance, access certification, role-based access control, segregation of duties, and privileged access management.
  • Hands-on or operational experience with IAM technologies and concepts such as Multi-Factor Authentication, Single Sign-On, federation, OIDC, SAML, LDAP, Active Directory, Azure AD / Entra ID, Ping Identity, SiteMinder, SailPoint, CyberArk, or similar platforms.
  • Experience coordinating IAM operations across multiple countries, business units, or technology environments, ideally within a regional or matrixed global organization.
  • Ability to translate security standards, regulatory expectations, and audit requirements into practical operational controls and remediation plans.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, reporting, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting risk management, audit, compliance, evidence gathering, issue management, and control assurance activities related to access management.
  • Strong written and spoken English; additional regional languages are preferred.
  • Relevant certifications are preferred, such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, Certified Identity and Access Manager, Certified Identity Management Professional, or equivalent IAM/security qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Leadership and Stakeholder Management:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and coordinate teams responsible for operational security services across a large and complex region.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence global teams, country teams, technology owners, application owners, and control partners.
  • Execution-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize competing demands, track commitments, escalate risks, and drive outcomes through structured governance.
  • Ability to work independently, operate with sound judgment, and maintain accountability for deliverables in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

AI Proficiency

  • Ability to use approved AI tools to improve team productivity, operational planning, reporting, analysis, documentation, and decision support while maintaining ownership of decisions and final deliverables.
  • Ability to encourage responsible and consistent use of approved AI tools within IAM workflows, identify repeatable use cases that improve efficiency and quality, and apply appropriate review based on risk, sensitivity, and complexity.
  • Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, reliability, compliance, policy alignment, and business relevance before use in operational or management deliverables.
  • Working understanding how AI can support process improvement, automation, knowledge management, data analysis, and operational effectiveness in a security and IAM environment.

The expected salary range for this position is 71900 - €95800. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
